4. Customer Obligations
4. Customer Obligations
To enable MyTrade247 to provide its services safely, efficiently and without unnecessary delays, customers agree to the following obligations:
4.1 You must provide accurate and complete information when booking our services, including the property address, contact details and a clear description of the reported issue.
4.2 You must ensure that a responsible person aged 18 or over is present at the property during the agreed appointment unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.
4.3 You must provide our engineers with safe, clear and reasonable access to the property and the area where work is to be carried out. Failure to provide access may result in a cancellation or call-out charge.
4.4 You are responsible for ensuring the work area is safe and reasonably free from obstructions that may prevent our engineers from carrying out the agreed work.
4.5 Where applicable, pets should be secured and children supervised whilst our engineers are working.
4.6 You are responsible for obtaining any permissions, landlord consent or other approvals required before instructing MyTrade247 to carry out work at the property.
4.7 You must inform MyTrade247 of any known hazards, including asbestos, unsafe electrical installations, structural concerns or any other condition that may affect the safety of our engineers before work begins.
4.8 Where required to complete the work, suitable supplies of electricity, gas and water should be available unless the reported fault prevents this.
4.9 Where parking restrictions apply, you should inform us before the appointment. Any reasonable parking or access charges incurred whilst attending the property may be added to the final invoice where permitted.
4.10 You should inspect completed work where reasonably possible and notify MyTrade247 of any concerns as soon as practicable after completion.
4.11 Any abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour towards our employees, engineers or approved subcontractors may result in work being suspended or terminated immediately. In such circumstances, any reasonable costs already incurred may remain payable.
5. Booking an Engineer
Customers may request services through our website, by telephone, email or any other booking method made available by MyTrade247.
A booking request does not constitute acceptance of the work until it has been confirmed by MyTrade247.
Appointment dates and estimated arrival windows will be provided where reasonably possible. These are estimates only and may be subject to change due to circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where additional information is required before an appointment can be confirmed, MyTrade247 reserves the right to delay or decline the booking until sufficient information has been provided.
6. Quotes & Pricing
Where possible, customers will receive an estimate or quotation before work begins.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, quotations are based on the information available at the time and may be revised if additional faults, hidden damage or unforeseen circumstances become apparent once work has commenced.
Where additional work is required, we will discuss this with the customer before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.
All prices are subject to VAT where applicable.
7. Payments
7.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due upon completion of the works or in accordance with the payment terms stated on your invoice.
7.2 MyTrade247 accepts payment by debit card, credit card, bank transfer and any other payment methods made available at the time of booking or invoicing.
7.3 All invoices will be issued under the MyTrade247 trading brand. Payments may be processed through the bank account of TVGL Limited, which operates MyTrade247. Payment made to this account shall be deemed payment to MyTrade247 and will fully discharge your payment obligations.
7.4 All prices are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT will be charged at the prevailing UK rate where applicable and will be clearly shown on your quotation and invoice.
7.5 Where additional work, replacement parts or materials become necessary after work has commenced, MyTrade247 will discuss the additional work and any associated costs with you before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable. Any agreed additional costs will be added to the final invoice.
7.6 MyTrade247 reserves the right to request full or partial payment in advance for certain services, including but not limited to special-order materials, high-value equipment, bespoke products or larger installation works.
7.7 Failure to make payment by the due date may result in interest and reasonable recovery costs being applied in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, where applicable, together with any other legal remedies available to MyTrade247.
7.8 Ownership of any goods, materials or equipment supplied by MyTrade247 shall remain with MyTrade247 until payment has been received in full.
7.9 If payment is not received within the agreed payment period, MyTrade247 reserves the right to suspend future appointments, ongoing works, warranty obligations and any additional services until all outstanding balances have been settled in full.
7.10 MyTrade247 is a trading name operated by TVGL Limited (Company Registration Number 10437180). Where applicable, VAT will be charged at the prevailing UK rate. TVGL Limited is registered for VAT under registration number GB270133734.
Customers may cancel or rearrange an appointment free of charge provided that at least 24 hours' notice is given before the scheduled appointment.
If less than 24 hours' notice is provided, MyTrade247 reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of £85 plus VAT to cover administration, engineer scheduling and operational costs.
Where replacement parts or materials have already been ordered specifically for a customer's job, the customer will also be responsible for the cost of those materials if they choose to cancel the works and those materials cannot reasonably be returned or reused. Where materials can be returned to the supplier, customers will only be charged any applicable supplier restocking charges.
If an engineer attends the property and cannot gain access, or the appointment cannot proceed due to circumstances outside the customer's control, MyTrade247 reserves the right to charge the standard cancellation or call-out fee where appropriate.
8. Cancellations
9. Qualified Engineers
All services are carried out by suitably qualified, experienced and, where required by law, appropriately certified engineers. MyTrade247 operates using a combination of employed engineers and approved subcontractors. Regardless of who attends your property, your contract remains with MyTrade247.
10. Engineer Attendance
MyTrade247 operates a nationwide network of employed engineers and approved subcontractors. Regardless of who attends your property, your contract remains with MyTrade247.
Whilst we operate 24 hours a day, attendance times cannot be guaranteed and may be affected by engineer availability, location, weather conditions, traffic, emergency call-outs and circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
11. Customer Responsibilities
The customer warrants that they have the authority to permit access to the property for the required services.
12. Existing Faults & Diagnostic Work
Many repairs involve working on existing systems or components that may already be worn, damaged or nearing the end of their service life. While every effort will be made to carry out a successful repair, MyTrade247 cannot guarantee the continued performance of existing components that have not been replaced.
Where our engineer believes a repair is unlikely to provide a permanent solution, or that additional faults may become apparent, this will be explained before work is carried out. By choosing to proceed, the customer accepts these risks.
During diagnostic work, additional faults may become apparent once equipment has been dismantled or tested. Where possible, any additional work and associated costs will be discussed with the customer before further work is undertaken.
13. Parts & Materials
Replacement parts and materials supplied by MyTrade247 remain the property of MyTrade247 until payment has been received in full.
Manufacturer warranties apply to new parts and equipment where applicable. MyTrade247 cannot be held responsible for defects covered under a manufacturer's warranty but will provide reasonable assistance in making any warranty claims where appropriate.
14. Workmanship
fault is directly attributable to the work carried out by our engineers.
Workmanship guarantees apply only to the specific repair, installation or replacement completed by MyTrade247 and do not extend to unrelated existing faults or components that have not been replaced.
Where new products or replacement parts are supplied, these remain subject to the relevant manufacturer's warranty. Manufacturer warranties are separate from MyTrade247's workmanship guarantee and remain subject to the manufacturer's own terms and conditions.
Repairs carried out to existing components may not permanently resolve faults where those components are already worn or approaching the end of their service life. Where this risk exists, our engineer will explain it before work begins.
15. Emergency Call-Outs
18.1 MyTrade247 provides emergency reactive maintenance services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, subject to engineer availability and operational demand.
18.2 While every effort will be made to attend emergency call-outs as quickly as possible, all attendance times are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. Response times may be affected by engineer availability, location, traffic, weather conditions, ongoing emergencies and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
18.3 Emergency call-out charges, labour rates and any additional costs for parts or materials will be explained to the customer where reasonably practicable before work commences.
18.4 Where a repair cannot be safely or permanently completed during the initial emergency visit, MyTrade247 may carry out temporary measures to make the situation safe and arrange a return visit to complete the required work.
18.5 If specialist parts, equipment or additional materials are required, these may need to be ordered before the repair can be completed. Any additional costs will be discussed with the customer before further work is undertaken.
18.6 If an engineer attends an emergency call-out and the reported issue cannot be verified, has already been resolved, or access cannot be gained to the property, MyTrade247 reserves the right to charge the applicable call-out fee.
18.7 Customers must provide safe access to the property and ensure that any immediate risks are disclosed before the engineer arrives.
18.8 Nothing in this section guarantees that every fault can be repaired during the first visit. Some repairs may require additional investigation, specialist equipment or replacement parts before a permanent repair can be completed.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
Subject to this, MyTrade247 shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or financial losses arising from delays, existing faults, manufacturer defects or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Our total liability for any claim arising directly from the services provided shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the relevant services, except where otherwise required by law.
17. Complaints
17.1 MyTrade247 is committed to providing a professional, reliable and high standard of service. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the work carried out, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
17.2 Complaints should be submitted to MyTrade247 as soon as reasonably practicable after the issue becomes apparent.
17.3 Complaints may be made by telephone, email or in writing using the contact details provided on our website or invoice.
17.4 Upon receiving a complaint, MyTrade247 will acknowledge receipt and investigate the matter fairly and promptly.
17.5 Where a complaint relates to workmanship, MyTrade247 may arrange for one of its engineers or an authorised representative to inspect the work before any remedial action is agreed.
17.6 Customers must provide MyTrade247 with a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify any workmanship issues before instructing another contractor to carry out remedial works. Failure to do so may invalidate any claim against MyTrade247 in relation to the original work.
17.7 If, following our investigation, it is determined that remedial work is required due to our workmanship, MyTrade247 will arrange this within a reasonable timeframe at no additional labour cost where applicable.
17.8 Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
This is concise, professional, and gives you the contractual right to inspect and rectify work before a customer can seek reimbursement for another contractor.
